Salsa Agrícolais the company engaged in managing Grupo Sociedad Azucarera Larios’s agricultural land property in the province of Málaga.Focusing on two main tasks: the direct management of agricultural estates and the management of rural leases of a large portion of land, as well as their conservation.
The rural lease business of land for free cultivation by farmers and for other purposes began when Sociedad Azucarera Larios S.L.’s sugarcane production agribusiness came to an end on the Málaga coast. This activity has led to the consolidation of agricultural production in the area through family farms, mainly horticultural.
The direct management of fruit-growing estates by Salsa Agrícola is relatively recent, and it focuses on avocado production. Following an extensive study of the production processes of this fruit in the region, in 2000 the first crop was planted according to innovative technical and management concepts. In 2012 this process culminated in the first intensive avocado plantation.
Salsa Agrícola’s business mission is, on the one hand, the exploitation of its agricultural property in Málaga, and, on the other, keeping this land in an optimal state of physical, productive and environmental conservation.
In this sense, as a result of our commitment to the environment, we would like to highlight the close collaboration Salsa Agrícola with the environmental authorities regarding the conservation of Paraje Natural de los Acantilados de Maro-Cerro Gordo,occupying a major part of land belonging to Grupo Sociedad Azucarera Larios, and home to Mediterranean flora and wildlife with a great environmental value.
